The History of Life Design

Life Design began at Stanford University’s d.school in the mid-2000s. Professors Bill Burnett and Dave Evans realized that design thinking, the same methodology behind groundbreaking innovations could also help people design better lives. Their Designing Your Life course became one of Stanford’s most popular, spreading worldwide through the Stanford Life Design Lab and the bestselling book.

Today, Life Design is practiced globally. But until now, it has always existed separately from other essential growth frameworks like design thinking and leadership development.
