IFLA General Assembly 2025

The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities

📍 Astana, Kazakhstan & Online

📅 20–21 August 2025

🕒 15:30–17:30 (20 August) & 15:15–17:15 (21 August) UTC+5

The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) will host its General Assembly 2025 in a hybrid format, live from Astana, Kazakhstan, and online. Taking place on 20 and 21 August 2025, this annual event represents the most important moment in IFLA’s membership calendar.

The General Assembly is where key decisions about the Federation's governance, strategy, and progress are made. Members have the opportunity to hear directly from the outgoing and incoming Governing Boards (2023–2025 and 2025–2027), alongside IFLA Headquarters staff, as they report on IFLA’s performance, impact, and future direction.

Voting Members will be invited to register to attend in person, participate virtually, or submit a proxy. Affiliates and observers are also welcome and encouraged to follow the live broadcast via IFLA’s YouTube channel. All sessions will be recorded and made available after the event, ensuring accessibility for the global IFLA community.

This hybrid model reflects IFLA’s commitment to inclusive participation and global engagement. Whether attending onsite or online, members will receive full access to the meeting platform and engagement tools.
